Amino has announced the availability of its new Amino 6 Series, a comprehensive range of 4K Ultra HD and HEVC hybrid TV devices. They include a 4K Ultra HD/HEVC DVR with advanced 802.11ac (4×4) Wi-Fi and MoCA networking options and dual 720p30 transcoding to support multiscreen. There is also a 4K UHD/HEVC client device with advanced 802.11ac (4×4) Wi-Fi and MoCA networking options, enabling the deployment of new services with 4K Ultra HD content delivered either as part of an operator IPTV Pay TV service or through OTT applications.

There is also a cost-effective IPTV client device, designed so operators can reduce HD costs by extending their reach over existing IP networks using HEVC compression. A high performance hybrid HD HEVC client device is also available, providing a range of tuner options for broadcast TV and supporting blended broadcast/OTT user experiences.

Amino CEO Donald McGarva says the new device series highlights how the recent acquisition of Entone has enabled the combined company to introduce a full range of 4K Ultra HD and HEVC devices and also expand its offering from IPTV to broadcast hybrid TV operators. “The new range provides operators with a choice of flexible and future-proof platforms to cost-effectively deploy richer and more compelling entertainment services,” he explains.
